High End Fashion with Junk Kouture
Sinead chats to Sinead O’Rourke, from Malahide Community School, who along with Tanyanat Tipprasert and Joy Butdeekham won the Glamour Award in last year’s Junk Kouture. Model Béibhínn Sheridan tells us how it feels to wearing couture fashion made out of paper!
Junk Kouture is a fashion design competition with a twist – it’s all about making couture out of JUNK. This all Ireland competition is open to all secondary school students which attracts 1,000 of entries each year.
If you’re wondering just how to make those fab flowers, Sinead, Tanyant Tipprasert and Joy give a quick demonstration.
So forget cotton and silk, instead think recycled milk cartons, old phone chargers and plastic bin liners to be among the next generation of Irish designers creating their own Couture style.
So if you want to show off your love of design and fashion while finding creative uses for all that Junk lying about go to Junk Kouture to find out how you can enter.
And if that’s not enough Junk Kouture fashion, here’s more designs from last year.
