Two Tube music critic Conor Behan checks out the Delorentos new album ‘Little Sparks’ along with singles from One Direction and Madonna.

Delorentos – Little Sparks
This is the third album from Irish indie-rockers who’ve been together since 2005. Although the Delorentos have never quite broken through in the way many expected, this could be the album that does it. It’s got big, confident sounding songs that have been crafted over time and should see them win many more new fans.

It’s a solid slab of indie-rock with enough of a commercial sensibility to appeal to new fans without compromising what makes them so successful.

One Direciton – One Thing
‘One Thing’ is the third single from the enormously popular boyband who has just finished their first tour. Similar to their first single, this is an American sounding song about falling for a beautiful girl.

The song sticks to the “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it” formula but it works and reminds you of why they’re so big. The video has already clocked up nearly 15 million views.

Madonna feat. M.I.A. and Nicki Minaj – Give Me All Your Luvin’
So this is the new single from the pop superstar ahead of her 12th album MDNA. It’s a cheerleading tinged pop tune with an infectious chorus. US rapper Nicki Minaj and UK singer/rapper MIA have been roped in for guest verses.

It’s a cheeky, upbeat number with a suitably silly video to match and feels like Madonna is having fun again. It has been four years since her last album. Since then she’s signed a new record deal and is working with a new management agency.

Madonna played the Superbowl Halftime show to great acclaim last week and will bring her next tour to Ireland on 24th of July with Tickets on sale next Friday.
